An Initiative of the City of Akron

Heal Ohio Conference

The 2016 Heal Ohio Conference was held at Quaker Station, on our campus in Akron, Ohio. There were over 152 attendees from 36 companies and health care centers, in addition to the 7 represented universities. More than 54 students both undergraduate and graduate, registered for free --- thanks largely to the generous support from our sponsors. The program offered clinicians the option to obtain up to 11 Continuing Medical Education credits. This was also applicable for those seeking nursing licen-sure renewal. Akron General Medical Center is accredited by the Ohio State Medical Association to pro-vide continuing medical education for physicians.

The two day conference provided all attendees the perfect opportunity to engage with companies and experts about developments and latest technologies in the field of wound care. Highlights of the conference included keynotes by Greg Schultz, Ph.D., and Eliot Mostow, MD on the topics of “Wounds and Biofilms” and “The Dermatological Management of Skin Lesions Seen in a Wound Center”, respec-tively. Concurrently at Quaker Station, an FDA Regulatory Series course was offered by BioOhio.
